19.11.10. eBay Christmas Discount Vouchers
eBay Christmas discount vouchers have just been unveiled by eBay in the run up to Christmas!
The eBay Christmas Discount vouchers page highlights various offers from some of eBay’s most popular sellers during the 2010 holiday season. The vouchers are available for use by all buyers purchasing through PayPal. Please remember that voucher codes are unique to specific items and sellers, so make sure you enter the correct code to receive your discount at checkout.
How do I use eBay Christmas Discount Vouchers?
1) When on the Christmas vouchers page, click on the item you are interested in. Through clicking on the voucher displayed, you will automatically copy it to your clipboard. It is now available to use at checkout.
2) Select ‘Buy it Now’ on the ‘Review your Purchase’ page.
3) Enter your voucher in the ‘Redeem your Voucher’ box.
*Please note than sellers with customised checkouts may only redeem the vouchers once you are logged into PayPal.
Also, throughout the buying process, you may see boxes asking for a promotional code. These are promotions specific to the retailer and in this case, you should enter your discount voucher when logged into PayPal.
4) Select PayPal as your payment gateway of choice (eBay Christmas Discount Vouchers only work with PayPal).
5) Once logged into PayPal, enter your eBay Christmas Discount Code into the redemption box. On occassions, you may need to click ‘Enter Gift Certificate/ Reward/ Discount’ to open a link to the redemption box.
6) Click on the Pay button and complete the checkout process.

14.11.10. New and Improved Goofbay ‘Not in Title Search’
Regular visitors to Goofbay will have noticed a lot of changes recently. In actual fact, our recent site redesign is only the first step in our ongoing efforts to introduce new tools and make our existing tools even more effective.
First in line for improvement has been the ‘Not in Title Search.’ Many Goofbay users don’t realise the power of this tool. It finds bargain eBay items where the seller has failed to include the product name in the title of the listing – Eg. people listing DVD’s without the word ‘DVD’ in the title, meaning they often go unnoticed on eBay. If an item goes unnoticed, its a potential bargain waiting to be had. If you’ve not tried our ‘Not in Title Search‘ tool yet, have a go now and see what bargains you can uncover.
Over the coming weeks, we will also be looking to redevelop our Free eBay Sniper to make it even more accurate whilst introducing further functionality. 25.10.10. Goofbay Launch New Website!
Here at Goofbay, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our exciting new site. The new site will look to kick on from where the previous one left off, with an improved layout and greater, easy to understand tools. As well as the familar Misspelling Tools and eBay Sniper, we will be looking to add greater functionality over the coming months to make Goofbay an even more useful eBay accompaniment.
Early additions to the new Goofbay site have been the Blog, which will keep you up to date with a diverse range of industry news, hints and tips on getting the most out of eBay and also we will take a look at the more satirical side of eBay and its listings.
For those existing eBay retailers, or for those looking to get into selling online, we have introduced ‘Web Shops.’ These are eCommerce sites, which allow you to get selling online quickly, with a small £995 set up fee. These shops include design, an admin system to manage your products and a PayPal checkout.
The coming months will see a number of new features being added to Goofbay, so check back regularly to take advantage. As always, your feedback on the site is always valued, so feel free to suggest improvements in our forum.
13.07.10. ‘Never lose an auction again with Goofbay eBay Sniper’ States The Telegraph
Goofbay.com was yesterday recognised as one of the best tools to save money by the Telegraph newspaper.
The Telegraph article, titled ‘Don’t let summer spending burn a hole in your pocket – follow these tips to make your money go further’, listed Goofbay’s free eBay sniper in its top 20 best ways to save money.
The article spoke highly of Goofbay, saying: “eBay is often the best place to buy equipment. However, for many people, winning the auctions can be time-consuming and as a result you wind up using the ”Buy It Now” option. But now you need never lose an auction again with Goofbay eBay Sniper.”
The article then continued to explain how easy the sniper was to use. It added: “Simply enter the eBay item number and your maximum bid and it will ‘’snipe” eBay just a few seconds before the auction ends.”
It is the second time in recent weeks that the usefulness of Goofbay has been recognised by a leading publication. Last month the Market Financial listed Goofbay as one of the most useful eBay tools for buyers and sellers.

Goofbay has been recognised as one of the most useful eBay tools for buyers and sellers by the Market Financial.
The newspaper listed Goofbay as one of the most useful eBay tools for buyers thanks to its eBay sniper and auction sniper tools.
Goofbay was also listed among the best eBay tools for sellers thanks to analytics and bulk listing / editing features.
Market Financial said: “Goofbay helps you find cheap products on eBay using typo search. And it also has buyer and seller tools such as sniping. The default is set to eBay UK, but you can always switch that around.”
28.03.09. Goofbay Lands Prestigious Award
Goofbay.com was last night recognised for its groundbreaking work at the Digital Awards.
The ceremony, which was held in Newcastle, saw Goofbay win the prestigious ‘Best Use Of API’ award for the use of sub-categories on the site.
In addition to this, Goofbay’s close partner company and web developer Visualsoft also picked up the overall award as they were named ‘Leading Digital Innovators in the North East’.
The award left Goofbay.com creator and Visualsoft Director Tim Johnson, pictured with the prize, both ‘surprised and flattered’.
Tim, who thought up Goofbay one Monday morning whilst in the shower, said; “We were honoured to win it, but very surprised having never entered any awards before.
“To make the night even better, our surprise got even better as not only did we win our award for Goofbay, but for Visualsoft to win the overall award as well was brilliant. We have put a lot of work into this and it is great honour and privilege to pick up these awards.”
The North East Digital Awards celebrate the excellence of the growing digital industry in the North East of England showcasing the best of the region’s digital talent.
